CANVAS BASICS
Make sure you have a handle on Canvas in this final workshop of the Spring quarter before iLearn is deactivated on June 30th!
Join us on June 1st from 1-2 p.m. as we go through the basics of using Canvas.
From navigating through the menus to publishing assignments, this workshop should be everything you need to know to get started.

CANVAS QUIZZES
Confused about the difference between Classic and New Quizzes in Canvas?
Join us on June 28th, 2:00-3:00 pm for a discussion of the two quiz tools in Canvas.
You’ll get an overview of each type of quiz and learn when to use them.
We will also discuss the roles of Question and Item Banks and explain how these resources save time when deploying quizzes in future courses.

Piazza integration with Canvas - Introduction
Join us on Tuesday, May 24th at 2 p.m. for an introduction to Piazza, one of our Canvas Integrations.
Piazza is a great way to keep students engaged, as well as to ensure that any questions they have get answered either by their peers or by the instructor.

Canvas/eLearn will be our one and only Learning Management System beginning with Summer Session A courses. Blackboard/iLearn will be discontinued in June.

XCITE Concierge Virtual Drop In Hours
XCITE is hosting Virtual drop-in hours for faculty needing assistance with academic technology tools, including Canvas, and other tools, including exams, on Monday through Friday from 11 am-1 pm, ending June 30th, 2022.

These sessions will provide general overviews to help with getting started using Canvas. 2:00 - 3:00 pm on Tuesday, November 16 and Wednesday, December 1.

XCITE offers live Zoom Canvas migration support for: Moving iLearn content to Canvas, transferring YuJa videos, and adding Google apps on:
- Tuesday and Thursdays from 3pm-5pm
- Wednesdays from 9am-11am,
- Fridays 9am-11am, and 4-5pm

Canvas Community Tutorials
Canvas Community allows instructors to receive help from experts worldwide and is available on the Help section within Canvas.
Canvas Sandbox Courses for Faculty
ITS has created sandboxes for instructors to familiarize themselves with Canvas while you build and store your content until your official course is ready. You can access your sandbox by logging into eLearn.ucr.edu. Once you have logged in, you will see your courses, including your sandbox, on your Dashboard-Canvas’s default landing page. If you do not see your sandbox, please submit a helpdesk ticket and we will set one up for you.

You can check the Status of Canvas at any time to see if there are any reported issues.
